It seems that I still got it!

As a DeafBlind person, I am typically noisy, can’t enter a room without a bang, a clunk or a sneeze.

Yet, when the conditions are right, Neptune, Uranus and Saturn align perchance, I can still quietly surprise the crap outta my wife!

Recently, on Revonation Day, my wife and son were up at 7:30 in the morning, doing a spot of cleaning in his eternally messy teenager room.

I’m guessing my wife had entered the room, and was encouraging the son to clean. She was facing him, with her back towards the hall/door.

I wanted to help, or maybe I wanted to see what was happening, either way I came downstairs, —he has a basement bedroom— ambling as close to her as possible. This was a feat unto itself, I can rarely walk into a room with some noise being uttered.

Then, I ask, in a clear voice; “How are you doing?”

That simple question led to bedlam!

My wife turned, saw me and shouted, she was spooked!

I popped the question right into her ear without her even being aware that I was standing next to her!

I burst into wild laughter at the look of pure surprise on her face!

We three were laughing uproariously for like ten minutes!

Several gulps of air later, she informed me that she did not hear me come up behind her because the vacuum was on!

I didn’t even know the vacuum was in the room, let alone that is was noisily sucking up dust bunnies!

What a great way to start the day!
