Pay attention! #1

Hi folks!

Happy Canada Day!

Please pay attention to your surroundings…

Recently, I was driving CJ-3 (my power chair) returning home, getting off at my stop right.

I ride the elevator up, exit this glass box, motor towards the accessible fare gate. There is only one exit gate, one entrance.

As I exited the glass box, a man saunters toward the gates, I’m pretty sure he saw me, or at least had a side glance.

He got to the accessibility gate first, then remembered he needed his translink ticket or whatever. So he’s rummaging in his pockets, finally finds the correct thing he needs, but drops it! So he’s now reaching down to pick it up… altogether 4 minutes have passed, not too long right?

But he is blocking the accessibility gate!

Like there are 4 other gates that he could do this rummaging in front of! I mentioned this to him as I passed.

I did honk my horn, maybe that is why he dropped the ticket.

He should have been paying attention to his surroundings better, there are people who need to use the big gates!

Thank you for listening!

  1. This is interesting but what does it have to do with intervenors?
