Prurience

This fancy word means a person has a strong interest in all things sexual; it’s not just randy-ness, prurience goes beyond that.

Everything about the person is concerned about sex. If you’re over 50, you might remember Sam Malone of Cheers. That guy was oversexed, wanting to bed Diane, Rebecca, Kelly and a whole bunch of other ladies!

Prurience can also refer to person’s interest (unhealthy as it is) in someone else’s sexual behaviours. In short, Carla wants to hear ALL (everything!) about Sam and Rebecca’s first forication…

I am sharing this word with you so that you have another way to thwart horny people…

Obviously you are not interested in sex with anyone, you might be married or queued up for Starbucks. When some horny, randy, person goes out of their way, maybe excessively flirting or humping you or… You want nothing to do with this person… So: you say “Stop you Prurient Asshole!” Usually works best at parties. While they is trying to figure out what prurient means, so much alcohol was consumed, you make your getaway to another part of the house!
