Craig’s WD #57

Craig’s Word of the Day is…

Onerous

A job, task or responsibility can be onerous when it is very difficult, overwhelmingly so.

Some examples:

  • Cleaning my son’s bedroom is an onerous task. (I can’t even see the floor, so many layers upon layers…)
  • Writing a thesis for a Masters in Psychology is onerously difficult, but doable. All the research, references, and reliance needed is astounding. (But I still want a Masters, just not in psychology!)
  • Reading Leo Tolstoy’s War & Peace, all 1392 pages of the Oxford University Press edition, over a weekend, can be an onerous task! (Thankfully I don’t need to read that book!)
  • Re-watching all 15 seasons of ER, 331 episodes, is binge-worthy, but somewhat onerous! (Now I want to watch it! Netflix?)

THANKS for reading! Have a super day!
