Hey ya all,
I’ve been chatting about words, DeafBlind issues, fantastic boasts and where to hide them, plus a lot of nonsense.
But I haven’t done a blog on reflexes, the thing I have very little of.
If I am not expecting a thing to happen, my reaction to that occurrence would be weak.
I’ll give you a few examples:
- A couple of weeks ago, and again recent Friday, I crushed my foot into a door while out with CJ-3, my power wheelchair.
in both situations I’m pretty sure I could have stopped a foot away from the door, but instead, I kept going forward; flattening my foot.
It was very painful, and I didn’t stop driving forward for a few seconds.
when I finally backed up and away, my foot was throbbing! I quickly swallowed some ibuprofen and carried on.
I wasn’t expecting to ram into the door as I tried to open it! - Something as simple as catching a ball from across the room is impossible for e.
But you know what? I think my vision issues come into play as well. I can’t see a ball being thrown at me until it bonks me in the head, and even then I can’t see it because it’s bounced this way or that.
I also can’t see the door, last Friday I couldn’t hear or see the flashing light above the skytrain doors!
These are interesting thoughts yes!
there might be more…
My iPad, with iOS version 26.1, now has weird autocorrect, drives me cubs!
How about that for a topic switch.
Thanks for reading
