Craig’s WD #49

Today’s Word of the Day is…

Aegis

I’m surprised this word is not used more often, as it refers to protection of a person or thing.

Such an example of aegis takes place, countless times, on Breaking Bad (an awesome show!) when Walter White protects his cooking partner Jesse Pinkman. Walt does this in many ways, some of my favourite are Walt’s refusal to give the location of Jesse to the DEA. Walt would also take the fall for Jesse, killing rival drug dealers.

Also, Skylar, Walt’s wife, would create elaborate lies to keep Walt’s earnings from cooking meth a complete secret from her sister, her DEA brother-in-law.

Both Walt and Skylar are protection the illegal creation of meth, their normalcy is the goal they thrive to uphold.

I hope I got that right, I’m out of steam, just did ten blogs in a couple of days!

If I got anything wrong, please let me know!

Have a great day!
