Craig’s WD #44

Today’s Word of the Day is…

Jocoserious

Oh this is a fun word, seriously!

It combines Jocose with Serious, obviously.

If you are serious and at the same time poking fun at the situation, then you just did some Jocoserious wrangling!

I have a feeling it is very similar to an Oxymoron: which is having two different words together:
– It’s the same difference!
– The silence in the room was deafening!
– Stop being a big baby!
… and so on…

A Jocoserious situation would be along the same vein, you’d be in a serious discussion about a major purchase then, outta nowhere, make a funny comment about the need for a lighted mirror in the passenger’s sun visor (to check my dazzling smile every 5 minutes) then turn back to negotiating the monthly payments.

That is Jocoserious, I hope! If I am wrong, please correct me!

Thank you for reading!
