Craig’s WD #36

Today’s Word of the Day is…

Apocryphal

The actual definition concerns biblical writings that are not connected to the scripture. An example is the Gospel of Mary, which is not included in the bible.

This word can be used in other ways as well; Let’s see, I could probably get in trouble here, but here goes:

In Star Wars, the original three movies plus the prequels, and the follow-ups, those are the best right?(!) and then, Disney adds a bunch of spinoffs that some consider WTF, those can be considered apocryphal. Even thru the shows are Star Wars in scope, they are hard to connect to the main 9 movies. An example would be Andor, I can’t see how that is connected to Star Wars… but Ahsoka has clear connections (Luke, Anakin).

— Can you think of something that is apocryphal in today’s modern world? Please share!

Thanks for reading!
