Craig’s WD #36

Today’s word of the day is…

Dyspepsia

If you have indigestion, hell, everyone has indigestion at one point during their week, month, year, you are having pain because your stomach can’t digest the food you swallowed.

Dyspepsia is the medical term for indigestion!

The word can pop up in literature as well:

Amber, a adjunct psychology professor, went incognito to root out a professor who was rumoured to be facetious & prurient with students. Sitting in the back of the crowded 101 Intro to Psych class, she endured the usual first 20 minutes of class banality, when the topic turned to the greatness of Freud, she choked back a fit of dyspepsia. So bad were her coughing, that the prof at the front notice, and called her out.

“Miss? Are you alright? Do you need a drink? I have whiskey in my office…” proffered the prof, students were laughing, making ribald comments, whistling.

At that remark, Amber revealed herself as the person she was, in command. Casting aside the youthful guise, marched down the to the lectern, not once breaking eye contact with the soon-to-be fired professor, taking over his class with aplomb and conviction. The room, rapidly changed, exploded with cheers and clapping as the disgraced professor was ushered out the door.

See how dyspepsia fits in that fake story? Glad you liked it!

See you in a few!
