Hi everyone!

Something irked me this week, and it is not the first time this has happened!

As the scene unfolds, I was riding the bus on my power wheelchair…

The bus missed three stops; first and second due to sidewalk construction, and the third due to other bus pulling into the stop first.

That was not really not the problem, what happened at the fourth stop was beyond annoying!

As I said above, the story unfolds; which l mean literally!

The bus pulls into the bay, the front doors open, and a man steps in to the bus immediately. Remember I requested the ramp three stops ago, so the driver conveniently “forgot,” I toot my horn, the driver glances back: his response was a bit shocked, but the guy that got on swiftly exits the bus.

Now, I am waiting patiently for the driver to unfold the ramp, not sure what the delay is, could it be jammed? Or is he conversing with someone outside? And yet, in that 45 seconds TWO other people try to board the bus!

So, I can only assume the driver was NOT conversing with passengers.

With these two people trying to get on, I lost it: “Get off the fucking bus!”

Finally the ramp is unfolded, I fly off like I’m an F1 driver zooming down the straightway for the checkered flag!

BTW, this particular stop is notorious for rushing passengers, with little or no regard to persons using mobility devices.

Let’s just say I’ve witnessed this stampede to board the bus at least five times, probably more!

Now, I offer this advice: Pay attention to people getting OFF the bus, that is what the windows are for!
