Writings about Ataxia, being DeafBlind, family life. The best life can offer!

A thought

One thing that I miss while out “walking” with this power wheelchair, is my ability to……

Jaywalk!

I once did, running across streets to get somewhere quicker, barreling through traffic because I had to urinate, recklessly ignoring horns honked for the sole reason to get over there!

Those days are done! I can’t just zoom off a curb, rocket across 2 lanes of oncoming and 2 going the other way, expecting a ramp to gain the sidewalk on the opposite side! Impossible!

But I’m okay, I’m safer and people are safer!
