Craig’s WD #11

Today’s word of the day is…

Sententious

Oh what an interesting word, it looks simple, like something you’d see anywhere, but then, you look more closely, as I did, and it smacks snobby.

And, in fact it does deal with snobbery; to moralize something, an act, etc, in a pompous manner.

A good example: yesterday, access to a sidewalk was blocked to me because someone parked in front of the ramp, I could not go around, over or under the vehicle. I was walking my dog, using my power chair.

I took a couple of pictures, then took my dog another way. When I got home, I immediately posted pictures and and rationale on Facebook.
Within the hour, I had over 45 comments, including one person who kept was sententious, they called a friend & I “Karen,” went on and on about blah blah… sorry, I can’t remember what they were yakking about, but it got a lot of people riled up!

If you like, dislike or disagree with my definition, you can let me know!

Thanks a heap!
