I’ve always needed glasses, my vision always needed a boost.
But, yes there is a but in this blog, I’ve always found a way to not wear them.
Here are some reasons:
Point A: reading things become super blurry when wearing my glasses; books, this blog, that package from Amazon, that note from the pharmacist etc… I’d take off the glasses, try to read the thing, or use Zoom magnification. So, I’d be juggling the package, the glasses, the phone, ugh…
Point B: I think I liked being partially sighted. I couldn’t see someone so they would sign closer to me. I’ve started to use tactile signing at some functions. Maybe I need a friend?
Point C: I probably thought that using glasses would make me not as blind as I claim to be.
That last point is beyond idiocy, the glasses do not cure my optic atrophy, they crystallize my vision, allowing me to see a bit clearer.
Glasses, like a wooden leg, do not cure vision loss, they just improve the situation. I still have a vision acuity of 20/250, yippee!
If you are reading between the lines, you might have saw that I said my glasses, which is to say, I got a new pair of glasses!
They are no nonsense glasses, and a pair of sunglasses, that are best for driving!
But, they make everything within close range very blurry!
And with that blurriness, they also make my eyes tired!
I use them for driving my power chair! So far, I’ve avoided a lot of problems and people!
I am happy that I did get these new glasses!
