No, this is not a tale of a lost girl who gets eaten by three bears, but three times I’ve seen a bear.
While my area, Port Moody, has lots of bear sightings, I’ve never seen any of these majestic creatures.
Until…
Yesterday, in Coquitlam’s heavily forested northeast corner, on the banks of the Pitt River, my intervenor & I came upon not one but two bears!
One bear was crossing the road in front of intervenor’s car, while the other…
… was within ten feet where I stood!
My intervenor was quick to catch this animal as it was shooed off the property.
I jokingly said, maybe the bear was looking for a wrench?
I was at a massive yard sale, the guy had every possible tool or part imaginable!
And the third bear?
Oh that one happened in May, I was taking my dog for a long walk along Alderside Road (Port Moody’s waterfront district). As we rolled along, I saw a black “dog” nonchalantly amble across the road. But that was no dog, it was a large black bear!
It’s was a perfect example of nonchalant, not a care in the world, nothing could startle that bear! Not even my dog barking!
It vanished into someone’s property before I could snap a picture!
Thanks a lot for reading!
