Writings about Ataxia, being DeafBlind, family life. The best life can offer!

Trip Journal: lessons from the lake

I am enjoying my time at Lake Joesph CNIB camp. Very peaceful and laid back.

But, I have learned a very invaluable lessons,

1. Always be aware of where you sit, tree sap, I don’t need to say more…

2. Kayaking, a fun pastime ages ago, is now off my bucket list: Water actions plus ataxia do not mix, at least for me. I took a single scull out, promptly capsized it.

3. Bingo, unattainable but fun!

4. Always have fun when you can! Prank those who can take a joke, but not those who can’t.

5. Meet everyone at your table with a hearty Hello! Doesn’t matter if they can’t see you.

6. Wear bug spray, night and day!

7. Make plans for next week, then forget them until next week. I’m on holidays!

Stay tuned for more Lessons from the Lake…
