Writings about Ataxia, being DeafBlind, family life. The best life can offer!

Some random thoughts…

Hey there!

How are you doing? I’m pretty good!

I’d really like to get more blogging done, but shorter blogs, not longer, are the key to success, or so I heard!

In that case, I am planning to start writing about things that happen to me on a daily basis, not a huge dissertation that never gets read!

Today I’m going to start with some fun…

I’ve been using a particular RMT for many moons now. Because I am DeafBlind, we have developed a communication system: We use Notes on our iPhones before and after sessions. Doing this really opens interactions and reduces barriers.

Registered Massage Therapists are an underappreciated professional: they work hard, so you can relax!

Here are somethings the RMT has told me, that are perfectly fine in that context:
“Your body is feeling pretty good today.”
“You have a lot of tension all over your body, especially in your legs.”
I have tapped out messages before or after sessions that say:
“Please use more force in the lumbar region.”
“I really liked your handiwork today, but your hands were very cold!”
These comments are not ribald or lewd exchanges, professionalism all the way!

Of course, these comments are taboo when dealing with plumbers (…your pipes are feeling cloggy…), arborist (…that wood is sure wonky…) or housecleaner (…your did pretty good cleaning down low…)… and a whole bunch of other occupations!
Oh my, trouble is brewing! Haha!
Thank you for reading! Hope you had a laugh!

See you tomorrow!
