The art of checking your contract.

Hey everyone!

I just want to get this off my chest. You know the feeling? It’s when you wear an uncomfortable, two-sizes-too-small shirt, from last year, that you donned in the morning, thinking it’s unique, matching your personality for the day, but later, you just want to rip it off, but can’t because you’re serving drinks at Starbucks and really can’t get fired. Ever have one of those feelings? That you need to share something vital?

Yeah, me too!

To make it short and sweet, I will fictionalize the situation.

In April of this year, I received a contract for an event in December, remember it is all fiction!

I didn’t read the contract, but was communicating with the person running the Hot Wheels show. We both talked about December 3rd, and what to expect that Saturday.

Right, excited am I, you bet!

With two months to go, I decide to sign the contract, because it needs to be done 5 weeks before the show.

I open the contract, scroll down, find the date of the event, and scream…

The date in the contract is listed as December 4, Sunday! Not December 3rd as I’ve known since April.

I’m beside myself, well not really, with anxiety and upheaval. I can’t believe I did not check this contract out sooner?

I spent 6 months believing I would be on Hot Wheels heaven on the 3rd of December. When I saw the tall line, and three little lines making a 4, I nearly lost my shit!

Then, I calmed down a bit, reached out to the company, and found out the 4 was a typo!

Damnit!

So, let this be a lesson! Check your contracts! No matter how much time you have in front of you. Don’t do like I did and wait until the last minute!

Now I need to get this small shirt off!

Thank you for reading!
